🗣️ City Council expresses concern over the potential impact of Bill 60
Earlier this year, our Director of Legal Services, Sharon Crowe, alongside Douglas Kwan from the Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO), presented a letter and deputation to Mississauga City Council outlining the serious potential impacts of Bill 60 on tenants’ rights and housing stability.
Their presentation raised important concerns about how proposed amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act could further disadvantage tenants, particularly those already facing housing insecurity.
Following this deputation, Mayor Carolyn Parrish issued a letter to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing echoing and amplifying these concerns — a significant show of support for tenants and those fighting to protect housing rights at the municipal level.

We’re proud to continue our advocacy efforts in partnership with ACTO and other housing advocates, working to ensure that tenant voices remain central in policy discussions and decisions that impact their homes and communities.
